An IT services provider has submitted plans to build a £20 million centre in Inverness that will create 400 jobs in Scotland.
...with Highland Council planners in the hope of beginning work on the scheme in the summer, the Press and Journal reported. The employment opportunities include positions created indirectly due to the number of companies relocating to the area to take advantage of the facilities, which could be opened early next year.
Steve Chisholm, chief executive of Alchemy Plus, suggested that this initiative could open a "whole new industry in the Highlands".
He told the newspaper: "With the ability to house powerful new high-density computing applications and boasting one of the most energy-efficient designs of its time, the centre will be a best-in-class facility."
Yesterday (February 11th), Scotland's labour market was given further cause for optimism when Ryanair announced that it will be creating an additional 200 jobs at Glasgow Prestwick Airport
