Proposals for a £20 million computing centre in Inverness have been submitted to Highland Council.
The building will be designed to capture and redistribute the heat produced by the equipment to warm nearby buildings, while the colder outside temperatures should reduce the amount of energy required to cool it.
Scottish Council for Development and Industry Highlands and Islands manager Gareth Williams said. "A computing centre with world-class capability could be a major catalyst for the expansion of the knowledge economy in the region."
